Awarded the prestigious 2005 International Illumination Design Award of Merit by the IESNA, this 38,000 square foot library facility, located on the main City of Dublin civic campus, has been provided with a multitude of modern library technology in terms of lighting, power and signal design features. Peters & Myer, the lighting design studio of O'Mahony & Myer, carefully designed architecturally-integrated and energy-efficient illumination systems for every space, with special attention to the use of task/ambient approaches to maximize performance while maintaining the proper attention to architectural illumination, and all within the allowed Title 24 energy budget. Sophisticated lighting controls and strategic highlighting of exterior architectural and landscaping features round out the lighting design for this modern facility.
In-floor cable cellular raceway systems provide extensive infrastructure to account for future changes in telephone and data cabling requirements, and the application of surge protection to the electrical distribution equipment ensures trouble-free operation of the facility's extensive array of public access computer equipment.
