Clayton Library
Location: Clayton, CA
Architects: SMWM
The Clayton Library consisted of a single-story steel and wood frame building with children's and adult's book stack areas, full meeting and conference facilities, a generous Community Room, administrative offices, extensive A/V provisions, special collections areas and associated sitework. O'Mahony & Myer provided full electrical engineering and lighting design services for this project. Lighting systems made use of readily-available, energy efficient luminaires, but our lighting studio worked with project architect Cathy Simon and her team to develop a number of unique mounting details to achieve some very dramatic illumination effects that, combined, produce custom-lighting effects in key public spaces, all within the limited available budget.
