The Pittsburg Senior Center is a 10,000 square foot facility, opened to the public in 2004. The facility includes an entry/reception area with a lounge, staff offices with work room, consultation room, main hall with storage, kitchen with storage, multi-purpose arts and crafts room, game/billiards room, computer lab with storage, and building support spaces.
O'Mahony & Myer provided complete electrical engineering and both exterior and interior lighting design. The lighting of the main areas was designed to enhance the integration of the program spaces into the daily life of the center. The meeting hall, computer center, and classroom are all directly visible from the lobby, allowing visitors to see ongoing events and friends and neighbors that are there that day.
