The aged Student Center building was completely renovated as part of a larger modernization program that included the student center, gymnasium, and a new performing arts building. The renovated student center includes a multi-level cafeteria and food service area, kitchen, and faculty break room on the first floor. Classrooms and a balcony overlooking the first floor flank the second floor "fly-over" walkway. A new elevator was added to ease access to the second floor, especially for those with challenged mobility.
Decorative luminaires accentuate the shed structure of the building and reinforce the linearity of the second floor bridge. All in all, the illuminance levels were improved throughout the facility, as well as the building's energy efficiency. The new Student Center is a welcome addition and serves as a hub for student activities and gatherings.
