Architect: GLASS Architects

This National A.I.A. Award-winning three-building complex includes a public service building, administrative office building and a maintenance building. All lighting systems were designed to reinforce Pacific Gas & Electric's image as a leader in energy conservation, as well as to enhance the unique architecture. In fact, this was one of the earliest efforts in the state of California to make energy efficiency and "sustainable design" principles cornerstones of the facility design. An emergency generator/distribution system was provided to service the entire facility and the most modern cable distribution systems were provided for the extensive computer and radio systems. The full-service maintenance building was equipped with painting and welding facilities, a machine shop, supply storage room and vehicle maintenance bays.
