Brian O'Mahony, P.E.
Founding Principal, Electrical Engineering
Brian O'Mahony graduated with first class honors from the University of Ireland at Cork in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. After a year of post-graduate studies, he went on to serve as Project Engineer for the Electricity Supply Board of Ireland. Having moved to the United States in 1975, Brian joined Charles Krieger and Associates in San Francisco, becoming a key designer for that firm. In 1979, along with Jan Myer, he founded O'Mahony & Myer.
Brian is a gifted electrical engineer with over 45 years of experience in the electrical construction industry. From its inception, O'Mahony & Myer has followed his creative and rigorous engineering approach, where each project is treated as special, and where there is great care taken in the preparation of detailed and complete construction documents. As a senior founding principal of the firm, Brian is responsible for major project concept and review, as well as engineering of especially challenging projects such as data centers, technology-intensive environments, and high voltage distribution systems. Brian is a licensed professional engineer and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

Jan P. Myer, IES
Founding Principal, Lighting Design Studio
Since joining with Brian O'Mahony in 1979 to establish O'Mahony & Myer, Jan Myer's reputation as an award-winning architectural lighting designer has grown steadily, along with the Lighting Design Studio he has built here. The design principles he established at the outset have served as the foundation for every one of the firm's lighting design projects to this day.
Many of his completed designs have been recognized with design awards from various industry associations, such as the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), and publication in industry journals, such as Architectural Record, Lighting Design + Application and House Beautiful. During his nearly thirty-five year career, Jan has served as principal-in-charge for well over a thousand projects, and as project electrical and lighting designer for scores more while working early in his career for respected Bay Area firms such as The Engineering Enterprise, Gayner Engineers and Charles H. Krieger & Associates.
Educated at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Jan is a long-standing member of the IESNA.

Paul A. Carey, I.Eng.
Principal, Electrical Engineering
Paul Carey is an electrical engineer responsible for both design and project management, including electrical design and specifications for facility power services and distribution systems; security systems; tel/data systems; fire alarm systems; building access controls; process utilities; emergency generator systems; medium voltage systems; and fire station ring down/call out system design. In recent years Paul has amassed extensive experience in the design of Photovoltaic Systems of all sizes as well as designing to �green building� standards. During his more than 40 years of experience in the electrical construction industry, in Ireland and the United States, Paul has been responsible for hundreds of projects in the civic, industrial, commercial, educational, and medical fields. He has worked on high tech buildings in the Silicon Valley, numerous state-of-the-art libraries and educational facilities throughout California, projects in the Middle East, and construction�at�the Dublin International Airport.��
Paul began his career in the electrical industry as an apprentice electrician and after completing his apprenticeship he entered engineering school at the College of Technology in Dublin, Ireland.�Paul is a registered Incorporated Engineer by The Engineering Council in the UK as well as a certified member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, also of the UK. In addition, Paul holds an electrical contractors C-10 license in the State Of California.�

Pieter Colenbrander, P.E., LEED AP
Principal, Electrical Engineering
Pieter Colenbrander is a licensed professional engineer in four states, with over 30 years experience in the field, and is responsible for the detailed design and specification of the full range of facility electrical and signal systems on every type of project we undertake. His specialties include fire and life safety systems, photovoltaic renewable energy systems, and telecommunications systems design and engineering. Pieter is also one of our in-house experts on recommended sustainable design practices and the LEED and CHPS certification standards.
Pieter has managed some of our most prestigious projects in recent years including the award-winning restoration of the historic Burlingame Public Library, the UC Berkeley Central Computing Systems Data Center, the new Heritage High School Campus, and the Sacramento Valley and White River Amphitheaters for SFX Entertainment. Pieter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, and is a licensed professional engineer in California, Nevada, Oregon and Idaho.

Galway O'Mahony, P.E., LEED AP
Principal, Electrical Engineering
Galway O'Mahony is a licensed Professional Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional with over 15 years of experience in the field. His duties include the complete design and specification of all electrical and signal systems for various projects, management of design staff and project schedules, and coordination with project architects and design team consultants. Galway has also assumed a leadership role in the development of in-house CAD tools and the use of BIM software in our project design process.
Galway graduated with distinction in 2003 from Harvey Mudd College, one of the country's top engineering schools, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. A member of the N.F.P.A. and I.E.E.E., he has worked on numerous award-winning projects including University of California at Berkeley's Boalt and Warren Halls, University of California at Davis Bookstore, Roosevelt Community Center, Redwood Shores Community Library, and Otay Ranch Town Center Mall.

David Orgish, MIES, LEED AP
Principal, Lighting Design Studio
David Orgish is a Principal of the lighting design studio of O'Mahony & Myer. In addition to being involved in all project stages, from proposals to construction administration; he has also designed and manufactured his own custom luminaires through a San Francisco-based furniture showroom. David was also a manufacturer's Specification Representative, Product Design Manager, and Western Regional Sales Manager for three different international luminaire manufacturers, which gives him a unique perspective on the issues confronted in designing LED luminaires and illumination systems for buildings and their surroundings as well as the procurement and distribution of lighting products.
Since joining O'Mahony & Myer in 1998 David has designed the lighting for projects as diverse as the University of the Pacific Campus and Napa Valley College Relighting Master Plans, the St. Francis Winery, American Canyon High School, and several award-winning public libraries and community centers. He has also worked on several LEED Certified projects.
In addition to his duties at O'Mahony & Myer, David is a frequent lecturer at the P.G. & E. Energy Center in San Francisco.

Herman Lim
Electrical Project Designer
Herman Lim is an electrical designer and project manager for O'Mahony & Myer, with over 45 years experience in power distribution, lighting, signal and communication systems, for new and renovation projects, including commercial, institutional, and residential facilities, hospitals and laboratories, multi-story office buildings, residential housing, historical preservation and high-profile projects such as museums, libraries and places of worship. Herman's skills in project management and construction administration complement his broad technical expertise and exceptional design capabilities.
Herman studied environmental design and architecture, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in the mid-seventies - which in itself is a testament to his steadfast self discipline and prodigious powers of concentration!

Junette Kushner
Electrical and Lighting Designer
Junette Kushner has more than 35 years of experience in electrical and lighting design. She has worked on a broad range of projects including college and high school campuses, libraries, community centers, hotels, retail establishments and high-end residential estates. Among her more memorable projects are the Sony Metreon, The Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco, and George Lucas� Skywalker Ranch. Recently, Junette has been involved on numerous projects that have won the IESNA Illumination Design Award for excellence in lighting.
While overall sustainability and energy efficiency are always priority goals, Junette's work consistently meets or exceeds the client's aesthetic expectations as well. Along with circuiting most of the major lighting projects for O�Mahony & Myer, Junette is the firm's specialist in lighting controls, dimming and daylighting systems for green buildings. Junette majored in architecture and interior design at New York City College School of Architecture.

Alvin Chu, LEED AP
Project Electrical Designer
Alvin Chu has over 25 years experience in the construction industry, working with architects, contractors and consultants in the Philippines, Singapore and California. He has designed power distribution, lighting, telecom and fire life safety systems on projects including schools, wineries, commercial buildings, healthcare and fire stations.
Alvin graduated from Central Philippine University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is a Registered Electrical Engineer issued by the Professional Regulation Commission in the Philippines and a LEED Accredited Professional. As a Project Electrical Designer for O'Mahony & Myer, he is responsible for the design, implementation and construction administration of fire life safety, power distribution and telecom/signal systems.

Chris Lippincott
Electrical Designer
As an Electrical Designer, Chris is responsible for the design and administration of electrical power distribution, telecommunications, clock/speaker and fire alarm systems for the various projects he works on. He also provides lighting design support, including photometric and Title 24 compliance calculations.
Chris has extensive experience with AutoCAD and BIM software, as well as developing standard guidelines for their use. This has allowed him to make significant contributions towards the adoption of Revit as an O'Mahony & Myer project design tool, having developed a Revit family library, project templates and other office Revit standards.
Chris received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from San Jose State
University and has more than 15 years of experience in the building design and construction
industry.

Nicholas Tuosto
Senior Lighting Designer
Nicholas is an award-winning Lighting Designer with over 25 years of experience. He began his career with a prominent New York lighting firm, where he worked on lighting for museums and performing arts centers. Since then, he has designed the lighting for many projects, including libraries, civic buildings, community centers, schools, museums, hotels, restaurants, offices, residences, and landscapes. His projects have earned a reputation for refinement and lasting elegance.
His educational background includes architecture, industrial design, lighting design, and business. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He has substantial lighting project management experience as well as significant expertise in the design of custom lighting fixtures.
Nicholas has received IES Illumination Design Awards for the lighting of the Concord Senior Center, Marina Library, Morgan Hill Library, South Natomas Community Center, and Santa Clara Central Park Library.

Justin Kirk
Assistant Project Designer
As an electrical designer, Justin Kirk is responsible for the management, design and daily coordination of multiple projects. His specialties lie in the field of multi-building retail projects and public library works. With extensive on-the-job training and a background in technical design, Justin has acquired a mix of expertise that makes him a valuable member of the O�Mahony & Myer team. In addition, his early�training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and career as a classical�musician, have given�him invaluable�education in the arts of communication, concept interpretation and artistic expression � all of which serve him well in his career as a project designer at O�Mahony & Myer.

Shannon Goolsbee
Senior Lighting Designer
In his role as Senior Lighting Designer, Shannon carefully coordinates with the architect and other consultants for each of the projects he is assigned, while also working closely with other lighting and electrical team members at O'Mahony & Myer. He brings careful consideration and attention to detail to his design of illumination systems on each project. This helps to ensure that the lighting is skillfully integrated with the architecture, fully coordinated with other disciplines, and in line with established project cost and energy budget goals. He remains current on all the technical elements in the constantly evolving lighting world, with its increasingly complex technology and energy codes. This is demonstrated by his broad range of successfully completed projects, many of which have been acknowledged with industry design awards, LEED Certification, and publication in industry journals.
Shannon received a bachelor's degree in Energy Management from Sonoma State University, and has more than 20 years experience in the building design and construction industry.

Following a successful career in engineering, drafting and computer aided design for Southern Pacific Railroad, P.G. & E., and his own CAD service business, Talmadge Vessels joined O'Mahony & Myer in 1994 and was promoted to CAD Manager in 1995. Besides supervising our team of CAD operators, he is responsible for coordinating all CAD work with the various project managers to ensure accurate rendering and timely delivery of all drawings and submittals.
Talmadge graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. Among his many accomplishments, he is a published author of young people's literature, including the acclaimed The Wizard of Is and the Power of Not.

Crystal C. Wilson
Senior Administrative Assistant to Principals
Crystal graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts, which has greatly influenced her ability to provide excellent customer service skills with joy and enthusiasm. Crystal has a variety of administrative duties which include answering daily phone calls, assisting with bookkeeping (accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll), completing and sending out monthly billing, and assisting with managing collections.

Antonina O'Mahony
Business Manager
Antonina has been with the company for more than 25 years. Her background in administration and financial management has been a great asset to the company. She is currently a director of the Fiji office of O'Mahony and Myer and administers the office there. She handles all international travel and transactions for our company, including coordinating the training of Fiji staff at our headquarters in San Rafael, California.

Sandeep Raj
Fiji Office Manager
Sandeep Raj manages O'Mahony & Myer's affiliate office in the Fiji Islands.
He has been with the company since 1999, having started as an AutoCAD operator and progressed to office manager and electrical designer, specializing in Fire Alarm Systems design.
Raj is responsible for coordinating all projects processed thru the Fiji office, managing the workflow and staffing assignments. He also serves as the operations manager, handling office administration, payroll, taxes, and all day to day business matters associated with the Fiji operation.
Raj holds a Diploma in Architectural Technology from the Fiji Institute of Technology.
Raj also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management, Postgraduate Diploma for General Managers and Masters in Business Administration from University of the South Pacific in Fiji.
